The best way to explore the scenic Ammerland region is by bicycle. Marked cycling routes include the ‚Ammerland Route‘, the ‚Rhododendron Route‘ and the ‚Rund um Oldenburg‘ route around Oldenburg. Rastede and Oldenburg are just a few kilometres away and Wilhelmshaven can be reached in 30 minutes via autobahn A29. The Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, the North Sea coast, and Leer and Embed in East Frisia are other worthwhile destinations – all less than an hour away.
